Motorcycle Accidents

There is much less protection for one's body in any type of motorcycle accident (or bicycle accident). Often drivers in cars (or any 4 wheel vehicle) do not give proper right of way to motorcycles as they do other cars. Therefore, accidents involving motorcycles unfortunately result in many serious injuries. These accidents are usually due to driver error, but other factors may also play a part in causing these accidents therefore, poorly maintained roads and improper traffic control signals are sometimes responsible for causing accidents. Some cases may even require the use of accident reconstruction experts to determine the cause of the accident. Evaluating all the possible causes of a serious motor vehicle accident is a job for an experienced attorney. In addition, injury victims may also need an attorney’s help in finding an appropriate medical specialist or arranging for the specialist to wait for payment until the case settles.

Common sense advice: As with any accident that involves visible injuries and other physical evidence it is usually wise to take photographs of the scene, injuries and any other physical evidence (e.g. damaged car; motorcycle; bicycle or any other physical evidence that supports your injury case). Do not speak to any insurance adjusters. No matter how helpful, friendly, or compassionate a liability insurance adjusters may seem, you must always keep in mind that it is the job of that adjuster to limit the amount of money the insurance company will have to pay on your claim to the greatest extent possible. Therefore, do not speak to any insurance company representatives nor sign any documents before you consult with an attorney!
